  2. Ok, one of my guess's ....or opinions meh...

I took a class last semeter, which was .....blah something anthropology lol

    world i think but anywho

one of our topic's/videos was on life on certain islands and on the map

    Indonesia was one of them

When you look at the world map stretched out flat (not like a global)

its pointed out back in the midevil era and BEFORE that location mattered alot with how life flourished.

European and central america did well cause its climate was more warm and stable where as where island and indoenesia are is much more colder and/or hotter thus certain animals and things could not grow.

Example, in the middle part of the world (i.e. equator) its warmer and many more fruits/wheat/grain can grow, where as at the lower part of the map, many things like flour/wheat/grain can't grow, thus less materials to work with.

From what i've learned within indonesia, its hard to gather hard main things such as "cabrohydrate" and "proteins"

so trade and what not was much harder for those area's.

People that lived there had to find other ways to gather food to help feed the human body the nuterients it needed.

I forgot the name of a plant, but its a tree within that area they would cut down, and use to make a some what "wanna be" carb

problem is, it would take 10 people to take down 1 tree and harvest it , for enough to feed 2-3 people....... and it would take hours!

anywho, thats one reason why i think indonesia will have a hard time trying to develop...

location, climate as a whole affects what they can work with and or trade.

  3. maybe their traditions and culture prevent them from developing. For example, when people get accustomed in to doing things for a while they tend to stick to it and don't want to change the way they do things.

  4. I think that indonesia is a fairly developed country. When holding it to the standards of the big five like US and China, it may be underdeveloped incomparison, but Indonesia has the top 17th largest economy in the world. It is stragetically located in a region in southeast Asian that makes it a prime location for trade.

I guess my question is what are your criterias for considering a developed country?

  5. I think because in Indonesia there are too much corruption and bribery. They need to be honest in doing and building INdonesia.

  6. Get rid of the corruption and actually have competent people governing.
