Evacuation of Japanese American

why do you think that American Government acted so quickly and ordered the Japanese Americans to evacuate the country   after the Pearl Harbor attack and How long after the war's end were Japanese immigrants allowed to become American Citizens?

  1. its pretty straight forward......

American needed a victim and a villian, a face so to speak.

We need someone to blame (just like all news media/american reasoning)

Unlike 9/11 we didn't have a person responsible for the terrorist attacks, we still don't, we still BELIEVE that the tailban was responsible for it but there is still no official evidence

thats why now we didn't gather and keep middle eastern people in camps like we did in japan.

Yet, we still single out middle eastern and believe they are all responsible (just like korean's, chinese, vietnamese during ww2)

we still do today cause we still have pain and sorrow for 9/11 and still haven't truly found TRUTH behind the trade towers.......

When, i say this look at how we react to "middle eastern" people when we're in certain situations.

I still see and blieve when we're on a plane, american people single middle eastern lookin people first.......

Even in movies they are protrayed as a threat
    (harold and kumar: european trip)
kumar is smoking a high tech bong in the bathroom but it shows a lady viewing him as a terrorist with a bomb

    (the new "dictator movie)
it shows him and a friend in a helicopter with 2 white american's and they're talking in there language about how they wanna visit the empire state building or statue of liberty yet they wanna see the fireworks at the statue of liberty. but the movie makes a joke of it like

(oh its funny cause they have beards, glasses, look like the seemingly "terrorist" and all you hear is "empire state/statue of liberty BOOM BOOM BANG"...

The american people just need a sense of remorse, a target, a person to "BLAME"

  2. Indeed, I agree very much with Rich May's post. The Pearl Harbor attack was definitely known done by the Japanese, hence the American officials had someone to blame. At least, they tried to express that they were hurt by the Pearl Harbor attack by hurting the Japanese who they can encounter in their own country, the Japanese American. I would also like to emphasize that maybe it was due to the shock and terror of being bombed here and there that the Americans at those time were being so much frightened (or angered?) by the sight of the race that once hurt their friends or families.

In response to your second question, "How long after the war's end were Japanese immigrants allowed to become American citizens?", If you were referring to the end of World War II, which happened in the 1945, then the answer to your question would be 20 years. In the Immigration Act of 1965, the Japanese, defined under the word Asian, were able to claim American citizenship for family reunification matters and such.

    1. my aunt told me that japan and america were having an agreement with trading, then suddenly pearl harbor got attacked by the japanese so america lost trust to the japanese which is why they got sent to the internment camps to prevent any other threats.

  4. I think Rich beat us all to the answer here. The American Government made all Japanese evaccuate the country as soon as the attack occurred because they needed someone to blame. They were angry and they found a scapegoat.I would also agree that it is the common American style of handling situations of that matter in that way.

  5. eh...sucks

The crazy part still remains if pearl harbor was known that it was going to happen....

To back that theory up, I suppoedly heard that Britain also knew of the nazi's coming to attack, but britain had already had people listening in to there radios and had a edge over germany.......

the sad part of this is, the prime mister instructed to not notify the city or its people of the attack coming due to the fact that, he nor the whoever within the government or UN wanted to give away that we were hacked into there communications.

If the prime mister had notified his people to evacuate, the nazi's would have known "hey they knew we were coming...........hmmmmmmm fishy"

    sucks eh? acts of war.......

  7. I think the U.S. was so ready to evacuate the Japanese and put them in internment camps because Japan actually brought the war to U.S. soil so it was like a punishment.
