Slaying the dragon: reloaded

Did anyone attend the event today? I did, I loved it, and wish i could have talked to the directors and teachers that created it... had alot of imput and questions about the video itself.

One quick question that is small yet big, does anyone know who Jamie Chung is?

  1. Yes, although I would not have known her just by looking at her name, but I have watched at least two movies that she starred in, the Dragonball Evolution and Sorority Row.

  2. ic ic, sorority row is a good example of how the idea of asian actors hasn't changed..........

also, she was originally from MTV's real world san deigo

the sad part is, her first role was samurai warrior or something, on FAM tv....

which is sad, 1 shes korean
2 she doesn't speak korean, and was born US

why she gotta play a japanese samurai warrior X_x

I just wanted to bring her up, cause shes a good example of how things haven't changed

    Samurai warrior - japanese samurai
    Sucker Punch - sexy girl
sorority row - sexy, sex driven, asian girl
chuck and larry - she was one of the hooters girl (the last one that came out with tila tequila)

On mtv's real world, she was a whole some, down to earth girl, smart, successful, and kind hearted.

The only movie i've seen her in thats questionable is Dragonball evolution ha

  3. I watched it. I did not even expect that how Asian women portrayed in American films had an impact to the reality of Asian women living in America.

  4. =]

I honestly think that slaying the dragon directors/producers should really have a interview with her

Considering all the other women they have put within there documentry are much older, jamie is extremely young and new to the movie biz.

But she still must go through the hardship that past asian actors have gone through.....

It be awesome to hear her idea and input of past road blocks for asian actors/actress's and if she feels shes going through that and if so how does she feel about it.

  5. Yeah I know of her. I first saw her on that Samurai Girl show on ABC Family. After that, she seemed to only play a certain role: the sexy girl. I like her but I wish she would branch out more. I haven't watched Slaying Dragon though.
